Boone Health says the planned expansion at its Nifong Medical Plaza campus in south Columbia will focus on primary care. Boone Health Medical Group vice president Drew Wilkinson:

“That’s a huge need for our community and really nationwide. But especially here in Columbia,” Wilkinson says.

Boone Health plans the expansion in the near future. Wilkinson tells 939 the Eagle that they’ll eventually have about 20 primary care providers at that location, adding that it will be great for the community. There are currently ten primary care providers there.

Boone Health Medical Group’s vice president says patients tell them daily how grateful they are for the busy Nifong campus, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Mr. Wilkinson was involved in opening the facility in 2016:

“It’s really a one-stop shop for patients, right. So with their primary care providers and specialists, they’ve got imaging, lab, therapy services,” says Wilkinson.

He describes the facility as high-quality and says it’s at a great location near Nifong and Forum. The Nifong campus has seen more than 170,000 patient visits in ten years, with annual visits increasing by 40 percent.
