You have another opportunity Monday night and during the overnight hours to see the Missouri Capitol dome in Jefferson City shining red, white and blue, in honor of the U-S Marine Corps’ 250th birthday:
That’s part of the U.S. Marine Corps theme song. Governor Mike Kehoe has ordered the Capitol dome to shine red, white and blue through sunrise on Tuesday. The governor says the United States Marine Corps has stood for 250 years as a symbol of unmatched courage, discipline and devotion to our nation.
You’re also invited to a cake-cutting celebration today at 1:30 in the Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City. Organizers say you do NOT have to be a Marine to attend. They also plan an evening event at the Mill Bottom center center on West Main from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
