The vice president of Columbia College is grateful to the more than 300 students and 80 employers who attended the recent first-ever mid-Mo small college career fair at Columbia College.
The fair attracted employers from across mid-Missouri and throughout the state. Columbia College vice president Dr. Dave Roberts tells 939 the Eagle that the employers who attended are amazing:
“I’ve seen several alums of Columbia College, I’m sure there are alums from the other schools here, who are now professionals working in that. And they were on the other side of the table at one point. And remember what that’s like to do that,” Dr. Roberts says.
The event was open to students and alumni from Columbia College, Stephens College, Fulton’s William Woods and Westminster and Missouri Valley College in Marshall. Dr. Roberts tells 939 the Eagle that bringing the five colleges together was a great way to share resources and to work together:
“We communicate regularly with the other colleges. We talk to each other, we share resources with each other. And this is just a really great visible example for people to see of these small colleges coming together to support students,” says Dr. Roberts.
The fair is also part of Columbia College’s continued efforts to connect students and alums with employers in the region.
