Officials from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) are alerting motorists and truckers to expect long backups this weekend on busy I-70 at Highway 54 in Kingdom City.
Crews will be demolishing the old Highway 54 bridges over I-70. Improve I-70 program director Eric Kopinski tells 939 the Eagle that the biggest delays will be Saturday and Sunday:
“Those traveling on I-70 Saturday and Sunday day particularly will be up to an hour delay. So again you’ll still be able to get around,” Mr. Kopinski says.
The demolition begins Friday evening at 7 and will be done by early Monday morning. There is also a district football game Friday night at 7 in Kingdom City between North Callaway and Versailles, so traffic will be heavy tonight as well.
