(LISTEN): Midway USA does about $500-million a year in sales; it’s one of the biggest employers in Columbia/Boone County

Shooting, hunting, outdoor and fishing internet retailer Midway USA is one of the largest employers in Columbia/Boone County, according to numbers from Columbia Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI).

Midway USA founder Larry Potterfield joined host Fred Parry Saturday on 939 the Eagle’s “CEO Roundtable” program. Mr. Potterfield tells listeners that they have about 350 employees:

“Do a little over $500-million (in sales) a year. (We are) in our third campus in 49 years,” Mr. Potterfield says.

Many of you have noticed Midway USA’s massive headquarters and its 400,000 square foot distribution/fulfillment center near Rocheport. Fred asked Mr. Potterfield how they ship their products:

“It would be UPS and USPS (United States Postal Service) exclusively and not FedEx,” he says.
