Mizzou athletic director Laird Veatch notes there’s a lot of talk today about NIL, which stands for name, image and likeness:
“In our world we need sponsors to help generate the revenue and associate those kind of the sponsorships with you know NIL (name, image and likeness) for players. And that of that is embedded into those kind of relationships. That’s the way it works now,” he says.
Mr. Veatch says major Missouri companies are finding value in partnering with Mizzou athletics. He praises Columbia-based EquipmentShare and Jefferson City-based Farmer Companies, noting the new Memorial Stadium Centennial project has the EquipmentShare Club 1926 and the Farmer Companies Rock M Club.

Director Veatch says Mizzou Athletics generates an economic impact of more than $600-million and 500,000 visitors annually. He tells 939 the Eagle that Missouri companies see the value of the partnership:
“When we talk about investing and having a budget of $200-million in our athletic department, it’s critically important because it means something to this community and the state,” he says.

Mr. Veatch thanks Mizzou fans for their support.
