U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt toured the stadium last week and joined us live on 939 the Eagle’s “Wake Up Missouri”:

“I’ve been to a lot of sporting events in my life. There’s some really unique spaces in there. There’s these things called Tiger dens. There outside but they’re covered,” Senator Schmitt says.

Mizzou football coach Eliah Drinkwitz has predicted that the fan experience at Faurot will be enhanced by the enclosing of the stadium’s north end. The project includes 160,000 square feet of new construction, including 98,000 square feet that is enclosed as part of the new premium seating areas.

Senator Schmitt toured the new north end zone as well last week and tells listeners that the project is amazing:

“And the (Memorial Stadium) concourses are huge, you know so people can move around. It’s just really nice and it kind of connects that stadium all the way around now,” Senator Schmitt says.

The UM Board of Curators voted unanimously in September 2024 to approve the project. Mizzou opens its 2026 season on Thursday September 3 at Faurot against Arkansas Pine Bluff.
