The 20th annual 939 the Eagle Multipli Credit Union Miracles for Kids Radiothon airs this Thursday and Friday (February 19 and 20) on the Eagle and four other Zimmer mid-Missouri radio stations.

Radiothon raises money for lifesaving equipment and supports program needs at MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital in Columbia. Zimmer operations manager Carson tells 939 the Eagle that it’s a huge event:
“Especially the pressures of going up against last year: last year raising almost a half-million dollars. And this year that’s the goal: that’s the goal from national corporate CMN, that’s the goal internally. Like that’s the number we want to hit,” he says.

Last year’s Radiothon raised more than $456,000, a record. Every dollar you donate on Thursday/Friday stays local and no child at Children’s Hospital in Columbia is turned away, regardless of ability to pay.

Be prepared to laugh, cry and learn on Thursday and Friday each day from 6 am to 6 pm. Zimmer operations manager Carson says the stories you hear will be powerful:
“People get worried that Radiothon is it’s too sad: I can’t listen. I go no this is a party. This is two days of celebration. This is all these obstacles that these kids, that these families, have overcome and now we get to celebrate them,” he says.
These are the champions that you’ll hear about in-detail on Thursday/Friday.
Every dollar you donate on Thursday/Friday stays local and benefits a child who could be from Boone County or any of Missouri’s 113 other counties. The Big O Tires phonebank number to call on Thursday/Friday is 1-866-970-GIVE.
