Lots more voters than predicted showed up at Cole County polls

By John Marsh

Cole County’s Clerk misses his predicted election turnout. In a good way. Over 52 – of Cole County went to the polls Tuesday. Clerk Steve Korsmeyer predicted a 40 – percent turnout.

But his Director of Elections thought 55 – percent of voters would show up. About 25 – percent of them voted early.

The retiring Korsmeyer is being replaced as clerk by former State Rep. Dave Griffith.
