The project to widen I – 70 to six lanes will start in July from Columbia to Kingdom City.
The initial part of the project will add a third lane to the Interstate from Highway 63 in Columbia to the Kingdom City exit. Construction is scheduled to begin around July 4 and end in 2027.
The third lane will be built in the median.
