Mizzou football jumps to #14 after beating #8 Florida

Eliah Drinkwitz’s Missouri Tigers have jumped to #14 in the new Associated Press (AP) college football poll, after whipping #8 Florida 45-17 Saturday afternoon at Faurot field in Columbia on Homecoming weekend.

Mizzou running back Jamal Roberts was outstanding, carrying the ball 24 times for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons was 23 of 30 for a career-high 340 yards and two touchdowns.

The University of Missouri improves to 4-1 and 1-1 in the Southeastern Conference and they jump from #25 to #14 in the new poll.

Memorial Stadium in Columbia was sold out for a record 23rd straight time. Mizzou coach Drinkwitz thanks Tiger fans for Saturday, describing it as “an unbelievable atmosphere.”

The Tigers return to action Saturday morning, when they host Texas A&M at 11 at Faurot field in Columbia.
