The Missouri Tiger men’s basketball team will be starting its season Monday night with a true road game for the first time in 21 years.
Dennis Gates’ Mizzou team will battle Memphis at 7 pm at the FedExForum.
Mizzou is opening its 119th season of play, and its head Coach Dennis Gates’ third season. Mizzou is coming off a tough 2023-2024 season where they battled injuries and finished 8-24. Standout Tamar Bates is Mizzou’s top returner from a year ago, where he averaged 13.5 points a game. Mizzou is also one of just three teams in the nation to feature a top-15 freshmen and transfer class this season.
You can listen to tonight’s Mizzou game on the Central Bank Tiger Radio Network from Learfield, on Zimmer sister station KTGR (FM 105.1). Mike Kelly and Chris Gervino have the call. Missouri hasn’t started the season with a true road game since the Quin Snyder era, when they beat Oakland 90-85 in 2003.
