The man convicted of killing one Hermann police officer and badly wounding another will stay behind bars. The judge has denied a new trial for Kenneth Lee Simpson. He was found guilty in the fatal shooting of Sgt. Mason Griffith and the assault on Officer Adam Sullentrup in the Hermann Casey’s in 2023. He’ll be sentenced next month. He faces life without parole or the death penalty.
