Old mortar round found in JCMO yard

An inactive mortar round is found in a Jefferson City yard. Police were called after a homeowner told them he dug up the shell Sunday morning at the home on East High. The Highway Patrol Bomb Squad was called out and determined the round was not live and had no explosives in it. A military bomb disposal team was called in and took the mortar shell away.
