Missouri state troopers say a 68-year-old motorist from Holts Summit has been killed in Tuesday afternoon’s deadly crash involving a tractor trailer and an SUV.
The crash happened at about 2:30 on northbound Highway 63, near the sod farms and just north of Jefferson City. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the crash happened when a tractor trailer driven by an 82-year-old Steedman man entered Highway 63 from Renz Farm road. Troopers say an SUV driven by the 68-year-old Holts Summit man struck the rear of the tractor trailer’s towed unit. The Patrol’s crash report says the victim’s vehicle rotated counter clockwise and came to rest under the towed unit of the tractor trailer.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
