Murder charges are being sought against the suspect who allegedly murdered a woman Monday in Jefferson City and then abducted two children.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol canceled Monday afternoon’s Amber Alert after the suspect was captured and the children were located safe. 939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy reports 46-year-old Malang Jan Akbari was captured in Pettis County. Jefferson City Police have not identified the female who was killed, saying she was found with life-threatening injuries and died from those injuries.
JCPD says the suspect is in custody.
