Mid-Missouri’s Tipton and Blair Oaks high school football teams will play for state championships this weekend in St. Joseph.
The 12-1 Tipton Cardinals play Putnam County in the class 1 state title game Friday afternoon at 3 at Spratt Stadium at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Tipton has never won a state championship in football. The official name of the field and stadium is Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium.
Blair Oaks faces St. Pius X of Festus Saturday at 3 in the class 2 state title game. The 13-0 Blair Oaks team is playing for a state title for the fifth time in the past eight years. You can hear Saturday’s game on Zimmer’s Newsradio 950 KWOS with Kevin Kelly, with pregame at 2:30. Kickoff is at 3.
