Transgender healthcare ban, hands-free driving among laws taking effect Monday

There are several new state laws that took effect Monday.

Missouri’s ban on transgender health care for minors is one of them. Starting Monday, healthcare providers are banned from performing gender-affirming care to minors, and also cannot refer them to other providers for those procedures.

Missouri’s hands-free driving law also takes effect today. Drivers are no longer allowed to physically hold up their phone for making calls or sending messages.
