A longtime Cole County farmer is challenging a term – limited senator for the Presiding Commissioner’s job. Chuck Steck has filed as an Independent and will meet Republican Mike Bernskoetter on the November ballot. Steck was involved in an unsuccessful bid to turn a donated western Cole County farm into a county park.
