UPDATE: 85-year-old Jefferson City pedestrian killed on Christmas Eve night

An 85-year-old Jefferson City pedestrian is dead and another pedestrian is seriously injured in a horrific Christmas Eve night incident in mid-Missouri’s Taos. The crash happened at about 8:20 on Christmas Eve on Route M, west of Stoney Gap road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol’s crash report says a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Jefferson City male struck the pedestrians as they were crossing the roadway. The 85-year-old man was pronounced dead at Capital Region Medical Center. The Patrol’s crash report says the 86-year-old female pedestrian who was struck was flown to University Hospital in Columbia, with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of traffic fatality victims.
