DDCC says that to maintain the investigation’s integrity, further details cannot be released at this time. The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages anyone with information on the incident to contact Troop F headquarters in Jefferson City at (573) 751-1000.
Patrol Sergeant Bradley Germann tells 939 the Eagle that the investigation is in its very early stages, noting he cannot elaborate beyond what’s in the Patrol’s news release.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says they were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Railroad street in Harrisburg at about 8:45 Sunday evening, after a 911 caller reported that a man was screaming and waving a gun. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at about 9 and contacted the 31-year-old man, who they say was armed with a firearm. Deputies say the man failed to obey commands and moved toward deputies, who fired at the suspect. The man was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s department has requested the Highway Patrol conduct an independent investigation, which is standard protocol.
