UPDATE: Missouri deputy attorney general rescued after climbing Wyoming’s highest peak; he was found dehydrated

A longtime Missouri deputy attorney general and hiker who became disoriented after climbing Wyoming’s highest peak has been rescued in the Wind River Range.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s office in Wyoming says 55-year-old Shaun Mackelprang was found alive Wednesday near a lake following an extensive search that utilized ground search teams, drones and a helicopter.

The “Cowboy State Daily” newspaper in Wyoming reports Mackelprang was found dehydrated and disoriented, three days after he was reported missing.

Sheriff’s deputies in Wyoming thank the public and hikers who shared information and reviewed photographs and GPS data.
