The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says an extended and temporary single-lane closure of eastbound I-70 in Columbia will take place throughout the weekend, and they encourage you to consider an alternative route. MoDOT says the work begins tonight at 7 and will continue until Monday at 6 am, with one lane of eastbound I-70 closed around-the-clock until Monday between Range Line and Highway 63. All ramps in that area will remain open.

MoDOT says this is necessary for contractors working with MoDOT to build the new eastbound I-70 lanes near Paris road. It’s all part of the $405-million project to rebuild and six-lane I-70 between Columbia and Kingdom City. Missouri lawmakers approved the project.
