UPDATE: National Weather Service expects Columbia/Jefferson City to see two rounds of snow this weekend

The National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis has issued a winter storm warning for most of the 939 the Eagle mid-Missouri listening area, effective at 11:59 Friday night. The warning area includes Columbia, Jefferson City, Ashland, Boonville, Rocheport and Fulton.

NWS St. Louis meteorologist Chris Kimble tells 939 the Eagle that Columbia/Jefferson City could see six to 12 inches of snow, and that number will likely be adjusted today.

The National Weather Service expects two rounds of snow this weekend in mid-Missouri: the first one from Saturday morning into the afternoon, followed by a possible six hour break with more snow Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.
