The Cole County Sheriff says he’s running out of space. John Wheeler told Commissioners that he spent nearly a half – million dollars housing inmates in other jails last year. There is currently a law enforcement sales tax in the county. The current jail has a vacant floor that could be built into new cells. It opened in 2011.
