If the new 7 – 1 congressional map makes it through the special session it will be the 5th District that sees a lot of change. The district would only include Kansas City’s east side, then stretches east to take in Jefferson City. It also includes the northern part of Boone County, but not the Democrat-stronghold of Columbia.
The 5th District also picks up six counties from the 3rd — Cole, Cooper, Howard, Maries, Moniteau and Miller along with Morgan County from the 4th District.
