Former Lincoln University President Dr. James Frank has died. Frank also served as the first black president of the NC-AA in the 1980’s. Frank, a Lincoln grad and a basketball player, went on to be the school’s basketball coach before taking the president’s role. In later years, Frank served as the president of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. He was heavily involved in the NC-AA’s push for Title Nine equality rights for female athletes. Frank died at his home in Atlanta. He was 88.
