*** UPDATE *** — Explosion and fire at Cole County body shop

Firefighters are now investigating what caused an explosion and fire at a Cole County body shop early this morning. Regional West firefighters were called out after 4am to Xtreme Body and Paint on LoMo Drive. The owner was burned when the accident happened shortly after he arrived. Neighbors and firefighters say they could see flames for miles when they got to the scene. Investigators are looking into a possible gas leak. Both Regional West and Cole County firefighters battled the fire for about an hour.
