Longer shifts for JC-FD firefighters

Jefferson City firefighters will now spend 48 hours on the job. The City Council last night approved moving to the extended shifts on a one year trial basis. Firefighters like the plan because they say it will allow them to spend more time with their families. They also say it will allow staffers to work a second outside job. Jefferson City crews now work 24 – hour shifts.
