Council okays MSP bucks

Jefferson City’s council approves using a $1.5 million redevelopment grant for the old MSP prison. The funding would help the developer build a hotel and a conference center. Federal dollars are also available to help repair damage from the 2019 tornado at the site. The prison closed in 2004 but has long been targeted for use as a tourism site. City sales tax dollars would provide a match for the funding.
