JC Council okays more demo money for Capitol Avenue homes

You should see more work on Capitol Avenue in Jefferson City in the near future. It’s been several months since a judge turned over five run-down homes to the Housing Authority. They were all owned by Barbara Buescher who’s been in a legal battle with the city for years. Housing Authority attorney Todd Miller says it was still sad to see Buescher evicted from her apartment inside the family funeral home last month …

Jefferson City has dozens of tax liens on the Buescher properties for work done on the abandoned houses at city expense. Developers have already bought several of the homes.

The council approved additional demolition money last night.

Miller was on the KWOS Saturday Morning Show.
