Remembering the 2019 JCMO tornado

It’s been three years since an EF – 3 tornado hit Jefferson City. Sunday marked the anniversary of the twister that hit late at night on May 22 2019. The tornado cut a path from Eldon along Highway 54 through southern Cole County before hitting Jefferson City. Buildings were damaged or destroyed, but no one died. Three years later, the rebuild continues especially in low income areas that took a direct hit from the storm.
