Trial cancelled in Lazy Gators killing

A Jefferson City man accused in a fatal shooting at the Lazy Gators bar at the Lake sees his trial cancelled. The judge and Camden County prosecutor approved the cancellation of the August trial for Craig Hawkins Junior. He was charged with murder in the May 2021 shooting death of Vonza Watson. Chad Brewer of Jefferson City is also charged in the killing. There’s no word if Hawkins’ trial will be rescheduled.
