JC Council looks at falling down houses, approves budget

Jefferson City councilmen are holding off on okaying more demolition for Capitol Avenue for another month. They were looking at tearing down almost a dozen more dilapidated homes. The city’s consultant says it would take $4-million to rehab the properties, maybe much more. Council also okayed the $78-million budget for the next fiscal year. They also approved continuing the subsidy to keep the free compost site running.
