Versailles umpire faces charges of attacking a deputy at a ballgame

A Versailles man is accused of assaulting a law officer. 56 – year old Neal Sidebottom was umpiring a ball game in Macks Creek Saturday when he got into a dispute with a spectator and deputies were called. When a deputy tried to arrest him, Sidebottom is accused of putting the officer in a choke hold, throwing him to the ground and breaking his rib.
