That’s Jefferson City Fire Chief Matt Schofield. Capital City voters approved a one – quarter cent public safety sales tax in 2021. That tax is expected to generate almost $3 – million a year for the police and fire departments.
On a related note, Schofield continues to serve as the acting Jefferson City City Administrator. Steve Crowell (kroll) resigned the post in April.
