JCMO man charged with hitting officer with a shovel

A Jefferson City man faces charges for allegedly going after a Cole County Sheriff’s deputy with a shovel.

Antonio Robles was charged with assault after the Wednesday incident and is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond.

Deputies were called to a Highway 179 home after a call from a case worker who claimed Robles was out of control and was armed with a shovel. He accused of hitting an officer and smashing a patrol car’s windshield.
