No Medicaid bucks in Missouri House budget

The Missouri House yesterday (thur) passed its version of the state budget, without including funding for voter-approved Medicaid expansion. Republicans in the majority say they’re worried about committing the state to pay for its share of the growing and expensive government health care program. Missouri voters last year amended the state constitution to expand Medicaid. The budget now moves to the Missouri Senate.
