JCMO fire chief doing double duty

No more free parking in downtown Jefferson City. The moratorium on unmetered parking has been eliminated by the city council. Councilmen got complaints from downtown business owners who said the elimination of the zones allowed people to park in front of their stores for hours without fear of a ticket.

Also Jefferson City Fire Chief Matt Schofield will serve as Interim City Administrator. He’ll fill in until a replacement is found for Steve Crowell who resigned last month.
