Cole County official faces assault charge

The Cole County Assessor faces misdemeanor assault charges after a dispute with a neighbor. Deputies were called to Chris Estes’ home Thursday afternoon. The victim claimed Estes had punched him after the two had a dispute over property lines. Estes was released without bond.
